About Case Advisory Group

Case Advisory Group is a Toronto-based strategic advisory firm supporting mission-driven organizations, public-interest institutions, and founder-led organizations with strategy, governance, organizational growth, and execution. The firm is led by Gail Case, CAAP, EMBA, and combines senior-level advisory expertise with practical implementation support.

Working directly with the Principal, the Associate will provide research, project coordination, document development, and administrative support across multiple assignments.

This role is well suited to someone who can move comfortably between independent research, detailed project administration, and polished client-facing work. Assignments will initially be offered on a project-by-project basis, with the potential to become an ongoing relationship as the firm's client portfolio grows.

  • Verify sources and maintain organized research records.

Consulting project support

  • Maintain workback schedules, action logs, project files, and deliverable trackers.

  • Coordinate meetings, interviews, workshops, and stakeholder consultations.

  • Prepare agendas, briefing notes, presentation materials, and meeting summaries.

  • Support survey administration and the organization of qualitative and quantitative findings.

  • Assist with the preparation, formatting, proofreading, and quality review of client deliverables.

  • Monitor deadlines and follow up on outstanding information or approvals.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in business, public administration, social sciences, communications, research, nonprofit management, or a related discipline.

  • At least four to five years of relevant experience in consulting, project coordination, research, public-sector work, nonprofit organizations, or professional services.

  • Strong research, analytical, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under firm deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several priorities.

  • Sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive information.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and online collaboration platforms.

  • Ability to work independently while communicating progress, questions, and risks promptly.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting consulting engagements or competitive proposals.

  • Familiarity with public-sector or nonprofit project processes.

  • Experience with strategic planning, governance, organizational reviews, stakeholder engagement, or equity-related initiatives.

  • Experience organizing interview, focus-group, or survey findings.

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and project-management tools.

Working Relationship

  • Independent contractor engagement.

  • Hybrid — primarily remote, with occasional in-person meetings as needed and virtual meetings during regular business hours.

  • Hours will vary depending on active projects and proposal deadlines.

  • Some evening availability may occasionally be required near submission deadlines.

  • Willingness to travel within the Greater Toronto Area for in-person meetings and client engagements.

  • The Associate must have their own computer, reliable internet connection, and appropriate workspace.

  • Compensation will be established by assignment based on responsibilities, experience, and the approved project budget.

What Success Looks Like

The successful Associate will be responsive, discreet, deadline-driven, and comfortable working in a growing advisory practice.
